Don't go hog wild gutting everything.
The 028's like 026's don't like huge exhaust openings

I usually do 1- 1/2" hole or 3-4 1/4 holes

Pretty sure that front piece of metal is a template for where all the holes should be drilled.


As Cale said, don't make the exhaust port too big - but he didn't say not to make little ones or many of them. Hence the template. Drill away, I'm sure it'll run just fine.

Umm....NO.
Thats just the heat shield.....just like an 026/260.
The only port is under the Husky 266 deflector.

I think they're saying that front shield is a template for where you're supposed to drill holes, that's what I'd do anyway :bananawiggle:

the shadowing on the front of the shield makes it look like deeper holes ... deflector looks good!! husky parts should increase that saws........................ noise making potential :happywink:

+1 on the template!!!! Also if you want a pipe out of the one exhaust port would look good...
