now that we're on the subject:

why do they have to have fillers in the machined holes? if a bow saw works properly, then whey wouldn't a regular bar with slots cut in it to lighten it?

Tsumara lite bars branded with the Husky name. I wonder who those were made for?

I've used my limited tricks and cant source the pic.

anything that makes these "official/real" vs just a bar w/a painted/vinyl husky logo on them?

bottom line i could care less about the branding as long as i could get someone in the US to sell these tsumura light bars in smaller sizes.

and the longer bars 28in and up, you have to look to the north to even get them.

Tsumura bars are bloody nice.

Have three 'standard' sprocket nosed bars ATM, two of them actually branded Tsumura too.

Try the Sugihara's..they are light and relatively inexpensive. Typically they can be had from their distributor of ebay. I believe Total bars sold by Tilton/Jonsered are built by these Tsumura folks, wonder if Tilton can get the lightened versions.

I've had a bunch of the Sugihara's now. They are lighter and they wear very well.

I like the tsumuras but finding them isn't easy to do in most areas. I could get 24" total branded tsumuras for $55 from a jonsered dealer last year. Its just a 2 hour drive to get them. I would like to be able to get stihl mount tsumuras.

BTW, All Sugi's come Sthil mount and you need those Bailey's Stihl to Husqvarna adapters if your like me...or modify/grind/drill nuts to be adapters..I've done that too. AND they track in the 50-60 dollar range

I'm going to try a sugihara here sometime. I already have 3x the bars to saws now so I need to see a few go away before I order more up. :yup:

Last time I talked to Dave, he said he only carried what he considered popular sizes for his market (summary of what he said). I seem to recall him saying something about having to order 100 of one bar which is why he did not carry the smaller bars. We should do a group buy.:D

I tried to get some Sugi bars here in Canada but they wanted 95.00 a bar plus shipping plus tax and could only get the 16" bar I wanted in .325x.058.

Would the 16" and 18" Tsumura Lites and Sugis in the mentioned lengths be lighter than the Oregon Laminated in 16" 3/8 x .050?

How are the Husky Techlite bars wearing?
