Headed out Saturday. We'll see what we catch. Mostly a pike pond. Not my first choice but my buddy has been skunked all season for eaters so he wants an easy day of hauling in fish LOL

Depends on whether we get snow in the less than a foot or more than a foot region also. May not go if there's work to be done :(

The weather from Thursday night into Saturday morning is in the vicinity of 0-24" of snow. When it starts to get north of 12" I don't think I want to drive 1.5 hours north with a bunch of $$$Gear in the back of the truck to go fishing, especially when winds can hit up to 40mph. Don't get me wrong, I love snow, I want snow.... but hell I don't want this much right now :ahah: Towns and highways won't be the best at keeping roads clear, a boat landing in the winter sure as hell ain't gonna be plowed out til last, and I ain't hauling a trailer with a snowmobile :(

I haven't been out at all this year :(

I've been once. . . Kokanee salmon is hot this time of year. I was @16 (limit is 20) when the bite was off. I gave mine to an older fella there who had only gotten 4, so he limited out.

I want to go a couple times more before the ice leaves this year -- then it'll be pike all summer into fall -- then I can do the Whitefish run stating in October.

The old mossback I've been logging fer lives on a lake (where we've been salmon fishing thru the ice). He's gonna setup my boy for some trout bottom-fishing once the dock is in the water.

I guess he's pounded some nice rainbow out'a there.

I had a pretty good year ice fishing. I fish just northerns and I brought home over 50 this winter. Biggest was 34", lots of them over 30. I am bringing a whole bunch of nice boneless northern fillets down to Hedgerows GTG April 7th. My wife Sarah can do a mean fish fry.

My BIL is from St. Cloud - he's a wizard with the y-bones and fish fries:yummy:. Must be taught from birth in MN eh?

Time to get this thread rolling again. Who's getting their gear ready? Most years my first trip out is the day after Thanksgiving. Let's see some fish porn!

I'm ready to go this year. Some guy came into the shop last week and dropped a 1976 Jiffy 30 8" on my floor. The thing had cut maybe 10 holes in it's life.

Says here ya go, I got this for nothing, I already have one, thought you might like it. Don't even know if it runs, couldn't let the guy throw it away. It's yours.

So hell ya I'm happy :cucumber: Cleaned up the points and got everything freed up and cleaned, rebuilt carb, and away we go! :broccoli:
