They're both the biggest in the business. Some like one more than the other. Some can't stand either. But I'm curious what everyone's take might be on the two biggest home improvement stores. I for one am heavily weighted to Lowes. Home Depot is ✖✖✖✖. They've always been ✖✖✖✖. And they will always be ✖✖✖✖. Ugh I hate even walking in to Home Depot. The place I work for has a Home Depot account, and I do some work at a couple of friends places, they also live right next to Home Depot and the closest Lowes is a good 30 minutes away from them. So Sometimes I just have to go in, I usually dread having to do so.
Building materials are generally the same from both stores - it's not like I'm suggesting that Lowes has better drywall than Home Depot, and all the employees are just as dumb at both stores. And I'm not even saying I couldn't do the things I do by going to Home Depot instead of Lowes. I just can't stand the layout of the Home Depot stores. Sometimes you'll find the tub/shower and bathroom sink/vanity isle right in the dead center of the lawn and garden equipment, or the hardware halfway into the lumber and the other half into the paint section. Ugh good grief I get so frustrated walking in there. Nor can I stand the disorganization that exists in every frikkin' Home Depot I walk into. They're all the same - there's pallets of stuff just set in a spot where they clearly don't belong, products are always scattered and unorganized on the shelves, lots of times prices are'nt in the right spot or non existent, lots of times the products have run out and they're on a pallet 20' above your head - their stores are just usually sloppy and not all that taken care of when it comes to keeping stuff on the shelves and organized.
Home Depot has two things going for them IMO - they carry Klein Tools and Ridgid pipe wrenches and other Ridgid plumbing tools. Lowes used to carry both at one point, but for whatever reason Klein and Ridgid are no longer sold there anymore. Rarely I'll toss money at Home Depot for Klein or Ridgid tools - most often I'll order whatever I need directly from Klein, Ridgid, or Amazon.
Okay. I've cried enough about more nothingness. Now it's everyone elses turn (if they have such an opinion). :)
