Ckelp Dave recently got a replacement Honda application carb from Huztl for something like $3.86 (plus the shipping). It's a decent looking copy that'll probably work fine. I can't even fathom how they can make and sell those for that cheap. Boggles the mind....
They work. I got one for a gx160 about three years ago for like $7 shipped, it's still going.

Update fallers, I picked up a hazzard fraught chicom honda clone and slapped it on. Hada find a new lovejoy spyder and some new hydro mounting bolts.

Started on the first half pull, shit you not.

Those predator engines are good ones, my genny will start first pull no matter how long it sits. It hadn't been started since november and I drained the gas after that. I can fill tank and it will go first pull. Now can't speak for longevity. it don't have a lot of hours on it.
All the accounts of easy startin sure are true Rick.....As far as longevity, one could buy five of these engines to finance one Honda...

Didn’t it have a vertical shaft engine originally? I have the 26 ton model.
The motor that came off it was a horizontal....not sure if it was original. The mounting platform does not look right for a vertical...

What size is your engine? Mine has a 190cc briggs but Predator vertical shaft is 170cc. Wonder if it would handle it ok?

212cc, which they claim is a 7hp. The calculator I use has it at 6.52hp......170cc comes to 5.23hp......The POS Briggs I pulled off it was around a 150cc 4.5hp so I think your 170 would suffice.......Dont get me started on the BS tonnage ratings on hydro equipment........

Assuming you are developing 3000 psi or so would put you just north of 29 tons, more than enough in my humble opinion.

2500 psi brings the same set up down to just under 25 tons......anything over 20 is getting the job done......
