Once a year? I would hope this is more of a planned deal than an "oops" that repeats itself over and over again.....

It's a oops. Actually, I didn't have any grass fires last year because we had such a bad drought.

But the year before I believe I had two of them:eek3:

Never had to call the FD though, one time was very close, but they usually burn themselves out. What I'll do if the fire starts to get out of control is get ahead if the fire with a plow and plow up a strip of grass. That will contain it.

I'm a ways south and west of Cadillac.

It was about a acre. I usually have this happen to me once a year. Once grass catches on fire it spreads pretty fast

I heard that fire was hard to keep in hands with only nine point three fingers.

Had a similar thing happen a few years ago but it was 450 acres of corn stalks and then proceeded to travel a couple of miles down both sides of the rail road tracks. It was a good way for CP Rail to easily pick out the rotten rail road ties that needed to be replaced anyway.
