My lovely wife and girls brought home this steal of a find for me from beautiful Clearwater, BC. My youngest was so excited to pull it out of the vehicle (albeit using the brake flag), it snapped. I cannot find too much info on these but gather they were well received in the day. It sure seems well built (minus the brake flag). It will need a clean up and some work from sitting on its arse for most of its life.
Any literature, manuals, used brake flag (or a line on a Shindaiwa hoarder) would be welcome.
The 500 was one of the more popular Shindaiwa saws. Manuals awe available on line at Shindaiwa.com. Finding a chain brake handle may require a search on eBay or a call to chainsawr.com. Possibly a welded can put it back together.
Anybody have a Shindaiwa 377 non-epa carb with a High and low needle they would sell?
I think the 360 carb works also....?
my dad has a nice shiny 377 that he just fixed the jug on and can't get it to run right.... It currently has the epa carb with no high speed adjustment. The saw holds vacuum and pressure when tested, just to rule that out.... He can't get it to idle, but it will rev and run wide open just fine...
