Usually stuff like that ends up being a glitch with that version of vBulletin and some stuff affects some and not others. They usually fix the small issues with the next update - but even that next update has a couple bugs of it's own. vBulletin is solid software though. With all the changes that are made for each version it's bound to develop a here and there.
