Finally qualified for official redneck stature. New to me 454 dually for pulling the camper....on blocks in front of my house. Wouldn't have it any other way.

In Kentucky this is how you become mayor of the town.

Biggest truck up on blocks in the yard wins.

Is this truck a runner or is it still weighing down cinder block in the yard?

She is a runner for short trips (7mpg). I've not mentioned its pulling the camper yet.....so it has no idea.

Goodie. If I had it, it would still be up on blocks. :)

On the hunt for a replacement. Pre 01 Cummins or 7.3 ferd.

Muh broski said the '98 and earlier Dodges with the Cummins were the ones to get. Too many problems with the '99 through '05 models.

He hasn't said anything about the '06 and newer models.

The 98.5-02 isn't bad per say but the injection pump will need to be replaced sometime. The 03-07 are nice trucks and the injection pump is usually not a problem. They will go through injectors more so than the other years. They are real sensitive to water and trash in the fuel.

I love my 05 Dodge Cummins. I get 18mpg pulling a 26 foot camper.:bananacape: All though I have to change my oil pan because it is rusting out and leaking. :(

You must be in salt all the tine for the oil pan to rust out that soon. I had an 05 with the nv5600. I never could get great mileage with it running up the interstate.

Yes, we have lots of salt in PA. But Ive never had this trouble with any other truck Ive owned. $535 for a new pan from Cummins. From Dodge, even more. $450 for AM. 02 and earlier there about $125 for AM.... I don't understand that.

That doesn't make much sense that they're that much higher for those trucks than the 02 and down.
