I picked up a Univent 372 recently and it uses a .404 / .063 sixteen inch bar, and an 8 pin rim.

How many drive links will the chain need to be????

I'd personally switch it over to 3/8" an 8 pin .404 sprocket i the size of a 9 tooth 3/8 sprocket.

17" .404 x .063 bar is 60dl in Stihl

Both Stihl and Husky 20/21" .404 bars are 68dl so I'd try a 60 driver chain.

Not entirely on the DL count but it's gotta be 56-57 links......

Yeah I would normally too, but the original Univent bar is in great shape and I got the depth gauge for the bar too, so I'd really like to keep it original....without the carbide chain of course!

The literature said something like..."Specially modified engine to help prevent vapor lock and increase power".

We aren't sure what the numbers are but if I can ever get a weekend off again we are getting ready to find out!!!
