I'm having a MS261 built for my stepdad as a birthday present.

He's got a ton of black walnut to cut since he had his property logged.

And he'll be 65 in a few weeks, and has been drooling over the 261's since they came out.

So I bought one and having it ported this coming week.

It'll be running a 18" bar 3/8" combo, it'll be neat to see one of these ported against the ported 550XP's

It'll be back together tonight, and looks like I'm headed over the border to pick it up this weekend.

Pretty good turn around considering I dropped it off Friday night at 8pm.

5 days to do one saw? :smoking:

Haha it's like customers who say "it takes three weeks to fix my lawnmower???"

Looks like mission is accomplished, a good running small light saw with big saw power.
It's got enough power to run a 18" bar and 3/8" chain and cut full bar with a wide power band.
It should make him a good 65th birthday present.

It should give my muffler mod Husky 268 a run for it's money.
That wood was 2 year old 16" x 18 Elm

It's got a stock carb, no flywheel work and most of all it's a work saw
it could be used 6 hours a day and not blow up in big cuts.

I'm headed up tomorrow to pick it up. :bananaskip::bananaskip::bananaskip:

The only issues remaining is likely that it it isn't a well handling saw, and is too large and heavy for a 50cc saw.

It's been ported so your stock power to weight ratio is irrelevant, and it cuts nearly as well as a 60cc saw.

So you're point is moot.

Troll, 75% of the time this saw will be bucking firewood 6-16" black walnut primarily.

So sideways balances and "handling" aren't very important since it won't be doing much limbing.

So go piss in someone else cereal.
